The Mekong Meris story

Mekong Meris was founded by six long-time colleagues and partners who are actively operating businesses in different fields and who bring years of practical experience in the marketplace.

Like many Vietnamese families, we became increasingly concerned about food of unclear origin and inconsistent quality quietly affecting the health of ourselves, our families and the people we care about every day.

Through business and market research, we noticed a paradox. Vietnam has exceptionally rich seafood and agricultural resources. Many products are farmed, processed and controlled under stringent requirements for export to Japan, the United States and other respected international markets. Yet Vietnamese consumers — living where those products are created — have not always had regular access to them, even when the price is within reach.

We wanted to select and bring products standardized for export markets back to domestic consumers: clear in provenance, disciplined in standards, convenient to prepare and suited to modern life.

Mekong Meris did not begin as a passing business idea or the temporary excitement of a new venture. We are people who have built and operated businesses, and we understand that earning trust and creating real value is a difficult journey requiring decency, responsibility and consistency in every small detail.

Mekong Meris is built on practical experience, management capability, long-term partnerships and reputations its founders spent years developing. That is why every product carrying the Mekong Meris name represents not only a new brand, but also the honour and responsibility of the six founders behind it.

We do not only sell food. We want to help change how Vietnamese consumers choose and use food — so that products good enough for international consumers can also appear more regularly on Vietnamese tables.
